Is Chihuahua the right breed for me?

As a company dog the Chihuahua will follow its owner anywhere. This breed is not so tolerant to be alone at home at a long time, they can get sad and stressed. That’s why some people who work at the daytime buy two Chihuahuas.

If you are a sporty person and like to walk or run the several kilometres with your dog, the Chihuahua is not right for you. Yes, it can walk with you, but not too far. And if you walk with Chihuahua during the cold time of the year, you should buy the protective clothes to your little companion.

Many people ask if this breed is good for children.I don't recommend this breed for people with small children. But I also think each situation is different and depends on supervision from the adults. Some people just hand a puppy over to a child and allow them to go in to a separate room and play.This is a big "No!" Children have a tendency to tease and taunt animals as if it were a toy! That can be dangerous both for the child and the dog.

My suggestion to anyone wanting to purchase a Chihuahua is to educate yourself as much as possible about this breed. Speak to several breeders and then make your decision. There is much information on the internet to answer any question you might have.
